The Strategic Consultation Conference on National Innovation Center of High Speed Train was held in Holiday Inn Qingdao Parkview on July 21st. Former Vice Minister of Science and Technology and Deputy Director of Education, Science, Health and Sport Committee of the 13th CPPCC, Cao Jianlin, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Engineering, He Huawu, academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Tian Hongqi and Qian Qingquan, academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhai Wanming, Member of CPC leadership group of National Railway Administration, Zheng Jian, Deputy Director General of Department of Science & Technology of Shandong Province, Li Chulin, Vice President of CRRC Corporation Limited, Wang Jun, Chief Engineer of CRRC Corporation Limited, Zhang Xinning and other renowned experts of domestic rail transit industry jointly made an assessment of development of National Innovation Center of High Speed Train.
Academicians and experts attending the conference had extensive discussions and exchanges on topics such as development objectives, research directions, and institutional mechanisms of National Innovation Center of High Speed Train and made relevant suggestions. All experts attending the conference unanimously agreed that National Innovation Center of High Speed Train undertook the lofty mission of trial reform of science and technology institution and took on challenging tasks of bolstering the national science and technology development strategy and national transport development strategy. National Innovation Center of High Speed Train needs to pursue greater objectives, aim at cutting-edge development of global high-speed train technologies, and focus on realistic challenges in the field of high-speed train. A holistic approach needs to be adopted in considering future research directions. More basic researches for application, breakthroughs in key generic technologies and engineering applications are in demand. Greater efforts need to be made in innovations to build a platform of coordinated development with aggregated factors of innovations, allowing National Innovation Center of High Speed Train to play an important role in implementing national innovation driven development strategy and improving our technical innovation capability and core competiveness in the field of high-speed train.
National Innovation Center of High Speed Train will draw on the suggestions of experts, carry out relevant work immediately, and focus on important areas in promoting the development of National Innovation Center of High Speed Train. It will adhere to the development principle of focusing on industry, enterprises being the backbone, reform driving, open and coordination, and focus on development of cutting-edge and leading technologies and key generic technologies in high-speed train industry. Scientific and technical innovations will be promoted through institutional innovation as well as open and coordinated innovation.
